I had the one month trial and to be honest I couldn't find anything on there to watch. Netflix has more recent titles and maybe they got out bid by Amazon but I think Netflix would have been the better choice. Hopefully Amazon will sell it to terrestrial TV as well.
But that is how netflix got going - created new content like House of CardsNo doubt I'll sign up and hopefully they release all of them in one go.
You only create a reputation for doing it by... doing it well. HBO shot to success from the Sopranos, and from then went from strength to strength. Anyone remember The Wire? Many others too. Netflix thought they could get in on the action, along with AMC (Mad Men, Breaking Bad), and arguably have. Why not Amazon too? It's been a bit crap up until now, and they're desperate for a hit to make their name. Perhaps this is it?

Entirely agree. Amazon, huge global brand, buys proven talent on huge global video/broadcast market, for promotion on huge global market. All about investment, Amazon certainly looking to be making that investment.

I'm delving into stuff that I don't really know about here, but will have a stab: I think YT has a different market approach, in that they don't really invest in stuff per se, and earn money from clicks and advertising. Prime is paid content, so will expect a more immediate, 'concrete' return from subs. I imagine that those 4 doing what they do will require a lot more money up front (location, production, gear etc.) to make a decent fist of it, which Amazon can provide and YT isn't really set up for, despite having more money than god.
Well good luck in your venture and I wish all three of you well but I am not taking out a subscription just to watch your programme.
Hopefully it will be picked up on some deal by another free to air channel like ITV or whoever and dare I say this. Yours will become the most pirated programme on download sites.

Think of Prime as a delivery service with free TV Hopefully it will be picked up on some deal by another free to air channel like ITV or whoever and dare I say this. Yours will become the most pirated programme on download sites.

House of Cards is brilliant, I have no problem with online streaming services creating 'original content' but I think Netflix has a better reputation of doing it and with the other titles think a driving program done by them would have been brilliant.

I signed up to watch Ripper St from the beginning, at £8.00 per series I can probably get the DVD for less.No doubt I'll sign up and hopefully they release all of them in one go.
