What are you saying? That the jury was bought? Threatened? Hand-picked?

Iirc she got a 7 million or so pay off. But if found guilty would need to pay it back.

I imagine she is a very happy woman today and I would even more smile

All of those things!!

It can't possibly be that there was a prima facie case to answer and that, having gone through an (exhaustive) trial, the jury were not sufficiently sure of guilt to convict? Surely someone must be to blame blame blame?

Coulson doesn't have anything like that kind of money.
IIRC 6 of the defendants were having their costs paid by news international?

Not Coulson. That ran out for him a long time ago.

Spot on so far, mate. Good call
Yes, I'm quite pleased with that. The evidence against Coulson was definitely the strongest, and there wasn't really any direct evidence against Rebekah Brookes. My opinion is still that she must have known, but the Police/CPS just weren't able to prove it.

Some of the charges against others (e.g. Cheryl Carter) were pretty desperate, so I'm glad to see that they were acquitted.

I haven't followed this thread very closely, but now that only Coulson has been found guilty, do you think he might decide to land the others in the shizzle and tell what he knows that could incriminate them?

So Coulson guilty, Brooks and all others not guilty.

A very odd result given the conspiracy angle.

I say again, Brooks has dirt on people at the VERY top. Poison pill worked a treat. Someone has pulled strings here.
Welcome back! Where have you been Soov?

Surely he'd have been doing that weeks ago, considering NI weren't paying his legals and it was looking like he'd be getting tucked up.

Haven't followed it closely enough, what happened after he won at the court of appeal to change that?

I do wonder what you'd type if it were Farage in Cameron's shoes, regarding Coulson....

Why would he ? The assurances he was given at the time were incorrect.
No scandal there.

I think we can all surmise what the UKIP thread would have been if it was one of Nigels closest advisers! smile
hehe I know - 'serious lack of judgement', 'If he can't even get this right, how can he be allowed to run a country', 'Why wasn't the vetting more stringent' et cetera, et cetera et cetera...

Exactly the same. I have avoided posting anything about the Farage spending allegations.

Such a sense of victimhood, you Kippers.

Because he stated that he fully supported him and was sure he would be proved innocent.

Cameron also said he would take full responsibility for employing him.

oops I'm sorry isn't good enough

What allegations are these, have they been proven already ( I asked for hard evidence on the other thread ages ago still silence) has someone been banged up for that and we missed it?
No, that's the whole point;they never looked solid.

Then how is your point pertinent to this one, one seems to be no more than negative spin, this one a bloke is going down. Hardly comparable surely?
I didn't raise Farage in this thread! chris watton did, in an attempt to say that if it had been Farage the likes of me would have been demanding his resignation, whereas I am saying that Cameron knew nothing of this, sought and was given assurances, so the suggestion that he should fall on his sword was ridiculous.
