Cheers guys!

I've decided instead of arguing about financial stuff I don't understand well enough that calling him out on the EU part is the best, especially with those PDFs. Will see how it goes!

I think the video needs some back story to be effective, there's too much wiggle room (no pun on your name intended) for him to make stuff up that sounds believable.

On the subject of made up stuff and the EU, you claim that the UK could have gone and got clarification. Firstly Salmond could have got the done himself using MEP's, secondly if the SNP hadn't wasted so many parliamentary questions and so much parliamentary time asking Cameron for a debate they may have been able to ask him to get that clarification.

I've tried to keep up here but I may have missed it.

Has the oil situation been clarified? will Scotland keep all current oil revenue or will be it be new finds only?
Under the Petroleum (Production) Act of 1934, all rights to oil and gas found within the land area of the UK is owned by the Crown. Mineral rights in Britain's surrounding seas also belong to the Crown as long as it falls within the perimeters of the UK Continental Shelf. The UK Continental Shelf mainly covers the North Sea, which also borders The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Norway. The border lines were mapped out in an agreement between the five countries. Licenses to extract oil and gas from the UK Continental Shelf are granted by the Government's Department of Energy and Climate Change.

The wording is important, oil & gas FOUND within the land area of the UK is owned by the Crown. So all existing oil fields belong to the Crown. I'd say, if you leave the UK you lose the oil.

Perhaps this is why AS want's to keep the Monarchy as head of state?

Can we put this to an SNP member for clarification - it seems to me that they believe at worst they get 90% of the oil this would mean zero.... And 1/8th of the annual SNP iScotland budget is made up of this value. Hmm it would ruin them in one foul swoop

You have been told it is impossible for the Scottish government to ask about our future in the EU because scottish MEPs are not allowed ask

here is a video of a scottish MEP asking about our future in the EU

How much more of a back story do they want?

Ok, I get you now. I meant about the answer, not that the asking couldn't happen.

I will phrase it that way and stick the video in too, thanks smile

I've given up on Facebook because I have friends posting drivel like this.

Check out those FACTS

No arguing there, eh? It's all true. FACTS dude, FACTS

Probably originally posted by Jim Swinney.

I'd always thought that the Scots were well educated but I might have to revise that opinion.

It's actually worrying that they believe that crap.

Those sorts of Scots we'd be much better off without..!

So far since Sweeeny Todd has been found telling big fat lies not one single ProYes or fence sitter has entered any comment about it one way or another despite questions hanging for them to respond.

Why is this

Leading Scottish historian Sir Tom Devine has announced he is now planning to vote "Yes" in the independence referendum.

That oil and gas wording is rather curious.

Would this mean that all fields are to the UK, and so Eck and co can take a running jump if they want to claim them?

I have seen on the fb groups that a FOI request has shown the Scottish NHS has been using private contractors etc for the last 7 years at a cost of over £400M...

Now, given how they keep banging on about the nasty Tory bds doing the same for the NHS.
Is it not rather cheeky to say so when they are doing the exact same thing?

To be honest - if you were to ask me "Which way do you think a prominent Scottish historian - who makes his living selling books about Scottish history will vote at the Referendum?'
I'd bet my left bk on him saying "I'm voting Yes"

This is interesting:

Westminster will take revenge on Scots after ‘No’

Open dialogue on how different groups see this is emerging framework is helpful. We need more if this.

To be honest, I expect nothing less than everything on this thread which isn't anti-independence to be torn apart and dismissed by those of you.

Those tactics have resulted in multiple threads on this topic which is very unhelpful.

I thought PCV getting himself banned from this thread was the reason the "after the vote" one started?

EDIT: not true, my mistake.

No comment on the lies from Sweeny? Y'know, you must have heard them, big arsed porky pies!

Ok - Let's play your way - Let's talk about 50 world leading economists who say Scotland will be much worse off. This surely must be helpful to help you get off the fence.
