You can use a VPN like Tunnel Bear to fool iplayer into believing you are in the UK.

This may be worth looking at: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/digital-home/how...

I use a proxy server here in Cyprus but while I can watch live TV (all UK channels) I cannot watch iPlayer.

My VPN doesn't work for iPlayer for some reason. I'll be back for Christmas, I'll watch it then.

The Panorama show was pretty weak. Having seen the previous one (plenty of footage of it used again this time around), I expected it to be poor. It's a shame, as no doubt the journalist has uncovered interesting stuff, he just couldn't/wouldn't share it in any detail.

Whole programme could have been fitted comfortably in to a 15 minute slot.

Agreed. Bit of an anti climax.

I don't suppose any of us will be satisfied until we see Warner strung up by his bks, and Blatter next to him, on his knees begging for mercy.

Same with anything like that in near enough any company. Whilst the Beeb does waste money in some areas, I think it's unfair to single them out for this specific issue. After all, they probably get chelped at by a load of whingers saying that they pay the license fee, why should 'forners' get it for free. Rock and a hard place. Chances are the techs are saying 'There's no point, this is how you get around it' and their managers are saying ,'I know that, you know that, upper mgt have a policy that can't be changed, we must be seen to be enacting on it.' Upper mgt are sat around discussing how they can be seen to be not giving BBCs efforts away for free to people who don't pay licence fee.

Round and round we go. It was ever thus.

What's annoying is that I do pay the license fee but whenever I'm in the UK there is nothing decent to download and save to watch when I leave again. I found a good website for streaming all the freeview channels in HD, so I just need to keep an eye out for when this show is repeated now.

Off topic but not just BBC, quite a lot of the Public Sector is often required to be "seen to be doing something" when the officers know it's pointless and a waste of resources but the Politicians / members of public insist on it.

I agree, I had the public sector firmly in my sights too. 1 large company tha tI have worked out were similar - imagine all megacorps suffer from similar problems.

Happy days a blatter and platini banned for 8 years, I think it's only a matter of time before they see the inside of some cell doors.

Such a random number. Why not banned for life?

I don't know what their guidelines are but, at a guess, an 8 year ban effectively bans Blatter for life and will do so much damage to Platini's reputation that he won't be able to come back from it. Maybe a life ban would be seen as too severe and the CAS would overturn it, thus taking some of the bans credibility away? This is just pure speculation, I'm probably miles off the mark.
