Done if this stuff is extremely insulting, and once again we are straying into emotional “think of the children” terroritiry, as though adult lives don’t matter.
Here’s a thing - I’m careful when there’s an adult in the car as well. Or nobody, since there are people outside the car as well, such as pedestrians or other road users.
A child’s life isn’t worth any more than an adult’s.
I take it you don't have children then. Here’s a thing - I’m careful when there’s an adult in the car as well. Or nobody, since there are people outside the car as well, such as pedestrians or other road users.

You forgot the one last bit- at the age of 13, should the kid should have been taught by parents to put on seatbelt automatically long ago?
Granted it was a occasion that would have excited the senses, but should it not have been an automatic, non thinking action at that age (assuming parents drive and he is in a car daily). Open door, sit, close door, reach for seatbelt. click seatbelt.
Any parents with kids around the age? Do you need to check and tell them a lot?
My daughter is 10 and she tells me off even if I start to edge out of a parking space before she's got her seatbelt on Granted it was a occasion that would have excited the senses, but should it not have been an automatic, non thinking action at that age (assuming parents drive and he is in a car daily). Many of us forget to fasten our seat belts and get away with it. All of you posting here about seat belts never forget to do something important hey
And your point is what, exactly? Do you think forgetting something like that doesn't mean you're careless - Or that careless driving (with our without death) shouldn't be an offence?
Anyhow, there's no offence of "suicide by careless driving", so what you do with your *own* belt is of rather less concern.

I don’t care if he intended it. I don’t believe his story for a second and he has ruined a customers car and killed a child. He deserves a good beating IMO

I can safely say that I NEVER 'forget' to put my seatbelt on... its not really something you can fail to notice.Theres forgetting something important, and then forgetting something potentially life threatening.

Haha, really?! I can pretty much guarantee I've never forgot to fasten my seatbelt. TooMany2cvs said:
Do I always put a belt on before hitting the road? Absolutely.
Would I before moving a car around a yard, or up/down an access road? Nope.
Yard or private driveway, merely for the purposes of manouevring the vehicle, perhaps not, but on a public access road, 100% yes. The key being the word "public". Even just moving cars about at home, it feels very odd - it grates on me, purely from habit of pre-driving checks - not to belt up.Would I before moving a car around a yard, or up/down an access road? Nope.

Mine goes on before any vehicle I'm about to drive moves. No matter where. Would I before moving a car around a yard, or up/down an access road? Nope.
It's called 'habit'.
Been plenty of time to get into the habit - well, for me there has, I'm old enough to recall driving without a belt and when the motoring organisations and even the police were against compulsion - the argument was for 'voluntary persuasion'! Strangely, of all people, it was Jimmy Saville's 'Clunk, Click Every Trip' adverts in the 70s which really pushed the theme. It took years later before it became compulsory in 1983.
As for having a kid (or kids) in a vehicle I'm driving, it's belts on again before movement.
Anywhere.
It's called having 'responsibility' ie being accountable for something within one's own power/control.
People that are very experienced with guns have been known to forget to check that a guns not loaded and have accidently shot a person dead
As for those that have posted here that they fasten their seatbelts everytime without fail - Of course you do and so you should but there may be a day coming in the future when you forget to, we all know don't we that a small distraction can assist us in forgetting to do something important

No there won't, any more than I would forget to put trousers on before going to work. I know you can't conceive of that but you'll just have to trust us.
Agreed. No there won't, any more than I would forget to put trousers on before going to work. I know you can't conceive of that but you'll just have to trust us.
Penelope, you need to stopit now with your silly suggestions

Many of you must have seen the video of a police car rushing to the scene of multiple murders in London, a police car drives up close to the suspects and armed police jump out of their vehicle, moments later the police car starts moving forwards and seems to be out of control
I don't know why the police car seemed to be out of control but at a guess I suspect something that should have been carried out inside the vehicle before the crew exited it wasn't carried out, this gets me thinking that someone forgot to do something. How could a highly trained person forget to do something that needed doing before exiting the vehicle?

Are you having a mental issue? You are comparing armed police attempting to stop people being murderred with knives right in front of them and not putting an automatic car in 'Park' whilst arming their assault rifles, with someone forgetting to get a child secured in someone else's supercar before taking it for a joy ride? The Police had far more important things to worry about that night than securing a car and their actions were totally justified, including not fking around with the car whilst they saved the life of a man who was being attacked by three knife weilding murderers. To say they forgot to put their car safe before jumping out is a terrible and flawed arguement.
