Fascinating interview last night with Barbara Corcoran. She's a New York property millionaire and a "Shark" on Shark Tank, the US version of Dragons Den.
Back in the 90's a young Corcoran helped Trump get investment from two Hong Kong investors for which he owed her several million in commissions. As is his wont Spunkers decided to renege on the agreement and Corcoran made sure everyone in NY knew that he was not to be trusted. He sued her. Fortunately she had enjoyed a decent year and had some money. So she counter sued him and she won and he had to pay her $4 million. Spunkers pleaded poverty and was allowed to pay her in instalments. Each month when his check came Barb sent Trump a bunch of flowers and a thank you note!
Furthermore she tells of a meeting alone with Spunkers when she was pregnant. He made comments about how good her breasts looked compared to his wife's and she said it made her feel self conscious for years afterwards.
He's a sick man.

I don't think it makes one jot of difference who wins (and I'm British, so it's none of my business to pontificate about it either). I'm not foolish enough to swallow this "nuclear button" crap; it's professional advisers and backers that make policy. We will see no difference - apart from perhaps some entertaining antics.

A good question and one I'm not best placed to answer...my folks drilled into me "sticks and stones..." etc and it stuck. They also drilled into me a "live and let live" type attitude and that stuck too. I'm not sure I've ever been truly offended - there's stuff I don't like, stuff I don't choose to watch/listen to. But I can't say any of it ever truly offends.I would expect that the more tolerant you are, the less easily/readily offended you are by definition? People are just to quickly angered/insulted/whatever. Maybe they need someone to "blame" for their lot in life? Or perhaps they just need to feel sanctimoniously "better" than others?
