Hmm, found with her blood in his house, child bones in his stove and kiddie porn on his computer. Wonder what his defence is going to be?

The implication from the report appears to be that he dismembered her and then burnt her body?

Sweet Jesus Christ.

And I agree - particularly detailed for a BBC report

Genuinely horrific. And although I'm no great advocate of the death penalty, anyone who so massively rejects society with a crime like this simply can't be forgiven, ever. Perhaps in special cases like this there's a case for execution.

Can't see this bloke ever ever being safe to release. Lock him up, throw away the key. Broadmoor maybe?

Thing is he was arrested within a few hours wasn't he? Or was it a day? They seemed to be on to him pretty quickly.

Always assumed the flooded river had taken her out to sea.

RIP.

That poor little girl - I just don't get why someone would even consider doing such an act WHY?
I also hope that the court keep many parts of this case confidential even to the parents - I can imagine hearing such terrible acts could easily push them to suicide.

Death penalty.

Death penalty.
Indeed, I'm sure her parents want answers, even if only to help them come to terms with it and try (as hard as it may be) to move on. However, there will be a lot of details that I'm sure will do more harm than good if the parents were to know.

Not sure I'd want to know if I were in their position. frown

Heart breaking stuff, I hope he has the decency to tell the truth when confronted in court, but I doubt it.

Decency?....this is a pos who 'gets his kicks' with pics of naked 5 yr olds and has (probably) sexually abused, dismembered and burnt a poor defenceless young child. Decency has no meaning with him.
He should hang.

Soon you'll have PH lawyers telling you he is innocent until proven guilty.

I'm also curious as to what his defence will be, although accepting we have only heard one side of the story.

"Dunno Guv", "Can't remember" and "I was drunk" don't sound like the basis of a robust and structured defence.

that BBC report is truly grim reading. I was in the camp that thought he was probably guilty, and the body had probably ended up in the river. I really, really wasnt expecting that.

Hang him ?. I think they should just set him "free" back in that village, and walk away.

Thank Fek! that I cannot even comprehend the mind of the person who can do that to a child.

People this sick are wrong and if it's wrong you chuck it away. Just no point and far too expensive to even attempt to fix.

Indeterminate life sentence if he's found guilty, surely?

All life sentences are indeterminate unless they have a whole life tariff aren't they?

The (statutory) sentencing guidelines for murder prescribe a starting point of a whole life tariff for "murder of child involving abduction, sexual or sadistic motivation", so if he's convicted it's very unlikely that he'll ever be released.
