There's a decent possibility she is keeping her options open at not running again, 3 years out, as only has a 5600 majority, and it's increasingly clear that the SNP have peaked some time ago.
Being a shower of ste as a constituency MP might have something to do with it; crap as Douglas Alexander was he appears to have been a conscientious constituency MP who worked hard for the people who elected him.
Indeed. As I recall, she's hardly travelling every week, plus as someone who's done that trip weekly as a routine (well, London/Southampton - Edinburgh, so an easy equivalent) it's a doddle. My daily commute is now worse every day...

I don't earn anything like the package she does either.

"It’s the kind of place where, if you are reasonable with folk then they will soften a little.”

Judging by her speeches and comments I have seen of hers then that comment by her may explain why she is not having a good time!

Also saw this on Facebook today...

This. Totally and utterly (coming from someone who lives in her consituency). The overwhelming majority of SNP voters here switched from other parties having be sold the lie of 'red tories' despite having one of the most visible and active MPs constituency-wise in the country. Even those who have kept their allegience to the nationalist cause that I have spoken to agree that they lost out when the gimmick that is Ms. Black took the office.

I mentioned the resignation of a local counciller who clashed with Black over her lack of interest in local issues (no-where to be seen or contacted when the children's ward of the local hospital was faced with closure). She's not a politician it seems, and it has finally dawned on her.

But an SNP spokesman said: “The SNP Government has proven that a competent, focussed progressive government can continue to deliver these vital services, even in the face of the ideologically driven austerity of Westminster.”

Got to keep repeating the soundbites! Credit to the SNP that they have this aspect of their politicking down to a T. Irony of course though is that MacAskill made the point that they seem to be permanently in campaign mode.

Sadly that doesn't mean that people won't vote for her in 2020 if she stands again - she's wearing the right colour rosette at the moment and that is all that matters.

I just love this ...

Lord Darling also warned that the SNP would take lessons from Donald Trump's successful campaign and fight a second vote "on a fact free basis" in a bid to win.

Pretty much just like the first one then

Here we go again...

On the plus if they lose the vote, Sturgeon will hopefully quit and I won't have to see her in the media so much. More annoying to me than her predecessor which is some achievement.

Frankly they didn't have an option if they didn't do it then the support would wane.

It's going to be a fun few years.
Now let's get that £15billion a year funding we give to cover deficit back smile

What a b*tch.

A cynical attempt to use the short term post Brexit dip (that is bound to happen) to say 'look, told ye so. Come on Scotland, we're off'.

How can she say staying in the EU is in Scotlands interests with a straight (well, round) face when most of their trade is with England.

I'd go so far as to say she is abusing her power.

Can't say I blame them, I suspect they will be off this time.
