Pure propaganda. Thankfully this bad science/myth is quickly becoming exposed as the farce it really is. It was never anything other than an opportunity to control and tax the public - I hate to think how much this has cost the taxpayer.

As I said in the other thread, it actually angered me so much I went and turned on some lights just for the hell of it

I would like to get the story teller and keep smashing his head into the chest of drawers until he admitted he was lying. Then I would keep on doing it just for fun.

Who is going to complain to the advertising watchdog?

Seeing that things get pulled when 2 or 3 serial complainers winge why not winge about this?

Someone post a link where you can complain.

I'm up for signing it.

Sorry, I actually thought it was quite a good advert, it wasn't too preachy in my opinion.

I know PHers in general believe that climate change and greenhouse gas science is just a conspiracy aimed at getting their TVRs off the road but even if it is, fossil fuels are still running out and the less we use making boring old electricity the more is available for blasting about in our classic Dodge Hemis drivingcloud9

And when we finally run out of fossil fuels man is clever enough to invent an alternative.

Pure propaganda on a par with the Nazi party in WW2. Utter unsubstantiated rubbish backed by political spin in order to raise taxes and misdirect attention from more worthy topics...

Fossil fuels are not running out and nuclear power will be developed to give us unlimited energy resources. Stop listening to shrieking hysterical womens logic. Polly Toynbee calls us climate deniers, she has never been right about anything.

Well, fossil fuels ARE running out, there's no denying that if you think how long they take to create and how quickly they are burnt up. So you're wrong there. Nuclear power is good for providing electricity so I'm all in favour of that and as for alternatives to fossil fuel I still miss the smell of leaded fuel - chip fat diesel just doesn't smell right coming out of a sporty exhaust.

Well no, maybe I'm a bit more immune to preachiness than some people and am able to see both sides of an argument. If you have problems with people presenting a viewpoint without regarding that as preachiness then I'm sorry.

I have a problem when one side is government funded with a notsohidden agenda attached to it.

There is more oil in the tar sands of canada than has yet been consumed by mankind. You are confusing running out with reserves. Reserves are never more than 10 years because oil is recovered commercially otherwise if the public sector did it it would cost 10 times as much and have loads of departments and inspectorates overseeing it. Also reserves would be 100 years as cost is no object and vibe trucks are not cheap. biggrin There is more coal in this planet than we know what to do with. Hence its uneconomic to deep mine the stuff because we can virtually pick it up off the ground. If we silenced all the idotic windmill fans and got on with the nuclear programme we could have fuel forever... Trouble is we listen to greens.
