If you say so. Seems an odd thought in the context of the conversation.
You're not au fait with the word and meaning of facetious? As a mark of respect for the forum, please don't reply to me until you're prepared to drop your attitude.

Get used to it? What a country!
A police officer claims after car was slammed into the back of hers and she never came back to the force. Ok, that's fine. Sue other driver. Why not?
BUT to call 999, get no inkling about a claim until months later for something 'minor' is hardly comparable to the case(s) you outlined Derek.
As for 'like they would' comment, I wouldn't and nor would most.
I was delivering our local rag this week, and one property has a new owner (including a dog the size of a great Dane that decided he didn't like the look o' me! I got out the gate just in time but not before getting a hell of a graze on my hand from the latch as I slammed it. Sue? I wouldn't even dream of it. I got a graze and cut. It's life! You know what, a plaster worked wonders.
The guy actually apologised in the local post office to me and said the dog had come round from the back garden without his knowing. He said he should have had a beware sign and will be doing so, but he's only been in the house for less than a week. These things happen. It's life!
Kelly Jones tripped over a kerb, like I cut my hand. However, she should have been prepared... she's a copper!
There are hazards the moment you wake up. Sadly, there is also now money to be gotten from everyday minor hazards.
st country becoming sttier by the minute.
Just like the US, litigate here, litigate there. Pathetic!
As for get used to it, I have no doubt we will.
Nothing, but nothing surprises anymore.
Like the new 'experienced' 17 year old police commissioner.
You REALLY couldn't make it up!

Is it not comparable? We don't know the extent of her injuries nor whether she incurred any great loss of earnings. If there was no injury then she will get little/no compensation. The point of my post was, sorry if it was obscure, is that it is not new, as the DM, and Vaz - now there's an unholy alliance. Both must know it is not new but they want to make capital out of this without any concern for what will happen. A police officer claims after car was slammed into the back of hers and she never came back to the force. Ok, that's fine. Sue other driver. Why not?

If we make the assumption that the women is not injured then I would put her actions somewhat lower down the scale of terrible than Vaz and the DM. You couldn't make it up - but the DM and Vaz can and do.
If we make the assumption that the woman did suffer an injury which has cost her money then the job should cough up if she was injured on duty. If, as often happens nowadays, they refuse to then the woman should seek to find compensation for loss of earning elsewhere. I've got no problems with that.
Your graze is probably not comparable with the WPC's injury if she is suing for loss of earnings.
So if through negligence you suffered an injury when doing your job, for instance falling down stairs in your firm because they'd left items on the steps and there was no illumination, and if you lost half your pay through having to go sick (which was the point of my post and the comment from the officer) would you not sue?
As for this PCC with the mouth and eyebrows, she's nothing to do with the police in more ways than one. The police do not employ her. She being paid £15K for a part time job is a product of Cameron's policies. If you look back on some of the comments from the police Federation you will see that they predicted something similar: PCCs appointing family, friends and dregs.
I don't know if you were blaming the Old Bill but it is certainly not its fault. Just the reverse.
