The sort of people I and thousands others deal with every day ? The people who have an over inflated sense of entitlement. The sort of people that the 'liberals' protect? That the guardian interviews when blaming the police for the riots? I could go on.
Sadly yes

A number of my good mates are paramedics. They have so many stories of being abused, assaulted, insulted, taken advantage of as a free taxi etc etc

The system allows this to happen and there is little or no recourse.
Change the bloody system then!
We have all gone soft in the head in this country.
And being realistic, what is the chance of a change?

Zero sound about right?

The first detainee of the new millenium in my custody unit at about 0003 on 1.1.00 was some hero who had kicked a paramedic in the teeth as he was knelt on the pavement treating a patient.
There are plenty of these charmers around unfortunately.
And exactly 'why' are there plenty of them around?
What deterrents are in place for these scum to face?
Sod all.

Birch the f......s and they wouldn't appear so happy to do it a second time. In fact, they wouldn't!
But, hey no, you can't do that, that would be evil and wicked.

I go 5 miles over the speed limit and get nabbed. First lapse in nearly 40 years. So I pay my dues, either 3 points or a 90 quid dozy course. Naturally, I opted for the latter, so a day's wage lost on top as well, plus fuel. It hit me in the pocket. I didn't need a course to ensure I won't do it again.

In the other picture what did the scum who kicked the medic in the teeth get?
Social assistance and help no doubt to which he laughs at (literally) and gives the fingers up.
Nobody takes it further because this once great country is awash with pc fear, do-gooders and liberalisers, and our fast change to US culture litigation against the smallest thing.

Plot? This country? Lost it.
Beyond help now imo at every corner.

Unless affected directly nobody seems to give a sh*t anymore.
Very sad.

Thousands of incidences that are appalling every year. How reassuring to live in this once great country, where we have now progressed to things like the recent incident involving a 12 year old schoolkid who had fainted on a railway platform - and not one single person helps or assists, they 'all' walk over or around him.

Didn't used to be like this.

Time to immediately implement a very simple policy. Anyone convicted of assaulting a paramedic/doctor/nurse etc is placed on a list whereby they are refused health treatment, and no 999 calls for them either. (on the 999 front anyone who states that speed kills should also be placed on a list whereby when THEY call 999 the response staff obey all speed limits).

Gets my vote - if you can't follow the rules of a decent society then you shouldn't expect to make use of the benefits such a society brings

Right, piss boil time.

There is a paedophile who regularly calls my paramedic mates out with "chest pains". This, apparently, places him in the top category where it is full blues-n-twos and an 8 minute response time. He normally calls them about 11am. He is rushed to hospital where after an initial examination he proclaims he feels better, and checks himself out. By now the time is typically midday. Ya know abut lunch time. There is a school immediately adjacent to the hospital....

The paramedic boys all know this. They have been known to take him to a hospital 12 miles away on occasion - although this is strictly against the rules. They all despise him, but are powerless to do anything about it other than being particularly rough with carrying him to and from the ambulance. Makes you want to puke doesn't it?

Tosh. It isn't an entire generation, there are millions of decent kids about.

It's a small subset of scum.
You are quite right, of course, millions of good kids.

But some of the scum are second and third generation and haven't been show any better.
