I'd like to believe that this will not have much of an impact in Europe. We dont have the same bipolar nature about issues as America seems to.
I think it'll be a flash in the pan here, perhaps a few news articles, a Newsnight piece which will dissect the study and find it to be as irrelevant as I think we've decided it is within this thread.
However in the US, it'll become an election issue. Barry'O has come out in favour of gay marriage. Romney will pick up on this study, use it to bash Obama on his gay rights stance and also use it to make a wider point about the breakdown of the traditional family unit in the US.
I concur with you entirely as we have seen with that Bishop recently, unfortunately the type of views this type of thing tends to create, does not stay limited to the other side of the pond. And that was just one poor soul dying from pancreatititis <albeit an MP>.I think it'll be a flash in the pan here, perhaps a few news articles, a Newsnight piece which will dissect the study and find it to be as irrelevant as I think we've decided it is within this thread.

It's only the established church structures and Islamic mentalists who seem to be crowing loudly about the evil gays here, and I think the vast majority of people just dismiss them as homophobic relics of a bygone time.
Can you imagine a Republican President coming out in favour of gay marriage in the way Cameron has? Even Obama was hesitant over the issue initially.
