So he's wrong then? Or is he?
Nohe is correct.

He is showing his principals as well by refusing to take part in the case as he doesn't want our armed forces to face death and then come home to find they then face a legal battle over something they did when actually in a proper battle.

Send the protesters and lawyers working with them to experience the adrenaline and fear faced by our troops and then see if they are still going to raise cases against the military personnel who make sure they are safe in their noce office every day.

Rather than something that happened in the heat of 'a proper battle', the allegations seem to involve night raids to murder unarmed civilians then to plant weapons on them. That does warrant investigation.

Good points well brought out, but I was talking about his comments on Starmer.....

That sounds like the sort of thing best buried so we can pretend it never happened.

How can you tell that from what someone looks like?
Sorely tempted to post "that" Lib Dem group photo, but I think we're not allowed to do so any more.

Well obviously it needs to be looked at but not the way it has been done in the past.

The first thing to find out is who and why the original complaint was made and if it is real or not.

Then any further follow-up, if deemed necessary needs to be done with the understanding of the stress people are under and the damage that stress may have done to them.

we must absolutely not do what has been done in the past with potential action hanging over soldiers for year or even decades while a bunch of lawyers follow up a malicious complaint. That is just cruel!!!

Today on Rishi Watch we have no immediate signs of problems for Rishi. It's approaching 10am and so far no more resignations by ungrateful MP's.
There is the chance someone may announce a resignation just as Rishi is about to do PM Questions but that was new last week and would just be regarded as copycat stuff today. Whoever did that would forever be known as second switcher and would face ridicule for years to come.

PM questions could be tricky
I am not advising Rishi but if I was I would tell him to stress his positives such as he would be better at winning a nuclear war. But not just the war.
People will want to know about the recovery afterwards. Rishi would do well to stress how he would make the country bounce back faster than Sir Keir could. He could stress how well The UK would recover ion comparison to all the other decimated countries.
He could also point out about the mass closure of those cold war bunkers that was done under Labour from 1997 onwards (to be fair I dont know if this is true but I don't think that's important. It's more about letting people know that Labour wouldnt be as good as the Tories at protecting it's citizens

Rishi should also point out that in Grant Shapps we have one of the most excellent Secretary of State for Defence ever.
Other countries don't have Grant. Labour don't have Grant (well not unless he crosses the floor)
Grant is a winner

Mercer is not refusing to cooperate because "he doesn't want our armed forces to face death and then come home to find they then face a legal battle over something they did when actually in a proper battle."

He's refusing to share the name of Army whistleblowers who told him about alleged crimes because those whistleblowers fear that other soldiers and the system will come after them if they are identified.

It's the complete opposite of what you think it is. Mercer wants the alleged crimes to be investigated and rightly so.
