Sorry, you are blinkered to reality, the info' I have posted is true and reasonably accurate, you choose to diss it because it is not fitting your opinions. You have spent 30 minutes Google time and yet cannot find anything? Use the leads I have provided for you, how hard can it be! I have also offered to post up the actual numbers of new account openings when the end of year report is published, it will only be these that are 100% accurate, meanwhile most reasonable people on a forum website accept what you seem to be unable to do.
I'm "blinkered" to your understanding of a contextless statistic (have you ever studied statistics and mathematics?)..

Like you say, let's wait until full stats are published on all the whys and wherefores of account movements for all the banks and we can see what we can deduce and start a thread moaning about it. Chances are you'll be off getting angry about something else by then anyway wink

Did you ever bother to read the pieces in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers regarding the issue? I suspect not because that is apparent from your rejections of the facts. Maybe next week we will see some more on the matter, in truth we will. Mark this space.

I have no desire to step into the middle of this particular debate but one thing just struck me...

Cranky old bean did you really just quote the DM and MoS as a bastion of factual reporting and statistical accuracy... really!?

Opps, I've been caught out!hehe In all honesty though the financial pages I have found to be pretty good and although light in detail they are usually correct in what they print. The paper boy forgot to deliver my copy of the Times! no thats a fib, its not a paper I read now days.
Right time to don my faithful old p*sspot of a hard hat.

I read the DM piece on the number of accounts they have in total, yes (the one noting they are inheriting a lot of Lloyds business). I couldn't find anything recent in the MoS online that was relevant, and as I do not buy either rag and am not about to start to as a result of debates on here that's about as far as it goes. Whether I read the correct articles I do not know as I don't believe you actually linked to them. I also read the MEN article you did link to.

Tbh it's the latter article from which you are making your leap of judgement.

Anyway, I thought we were going to leave it at you calling me obtuse and me thinking you're an idiot with no fundamental grasp of stats or English for the time being? Until we can find a decent info source that proves your rant to be something more than hot air...?

You seem to have a fundamental problem, anything you dislike or disagree with you write tosh about the poster and diss the facts with nonsensical bullst. If you take the time and trouble to look around you will find that hundreds of thousands of people are ditching accounts with big banks and moving into ethical banking. You can still argue about the numbers if that makes you feel better. When you read the article in The Daily Mail did you notice the numbers and % noted within the article? I can tell you that the Co-operative bank held 1.5 million accounts this time last year and new accounts have been opening since at a fast pace (a surge)bury your head and disbelieve if it hurts. The only source for 100% accuracy will only be found in the end of year report from the business. Also note, The Co-operative are not inheriting Lloyds, they bid 1.5 million pounds for the 632 branches with accounts, then dropped the bid price to one million pounds on consideration of the fall in share price. An inheritance is something bequeathed, or are you going to invent an argument out of that as well?

You know when you rant and moan about others being hypocrites...? Look in the mirror (are you over 21 as sometimes I wonder).

All I am doing is noting that your "proof" is nothing of the sort. You don't like that (fair enough. Totally understandable).

And as for your literal definition of inheritence...I was being slightly less literal. The CoOp are only getting a shot at these branches and customers because Lloyds have been told they must get rid of them by some faceless people in Europe. They do not want to get rid (I believe) nor have CoOp earned them as a direct result of being ethical (the thrust of your thread generally).

Anyway, like I said. You think I'm obtuse. I think you're an idiot. Let's come back when we have some proper info to prove it. I won't hold my breath though.
