Worst carbs are the sweet, processed foods - cakes and biscuits being especially evil if you're not working them off with excercise. (And most people don't do nearly enough exercise anyway.)

Booze is pretty bad too, although the odd lager or glass of wine is not just a nice treat, but can also provide other health benefits in moderation.

I notice there is also some discussion now about whether high protein is wise...

I think the issue with the calories from alcohol is that they get used first by the body before any energy is taken from fat reserves.

To be fair, I think that at my weight, I couldn't do without the carbs because I need the energy to get my 21 stone 8 frame around everywhere... hehe

Biscuits - I don't really eat except for a treat now and then but I do eat those Go Ahead bars, a bit like Garibaldi biscuits used to be. They're 150 calories for three, compared to about 100 for a Club chocolate bar.

Potatoes are now and again, prefer a root mash mix of potatoes, parsnip, carrot and swede. I'm eating a lot of noodles too and although bread isn't great, I'm losing weight despite eating five slices of wholemeal bread every day.

I'm sure she is a simply fabulous person.

Her friends love her.

She is strong.

Independent.

Happy in her skin.

These things are great.

But, she is not of a healthy weight. Without indulging in some kind of body fascism it is bloody obvious that that is not going to be what a medical professional would advise.
Indeed. I think there's a difference between the "vanity" argument, and the "health" argument. If you're happy looking how you look, then that's superb. But if you're not healthy, then it's potentially a problem. This isn't a fat/thin thing either. There's plenty of folk who are not overweight but are still massively unhealthy through things like drink, drugs, smoking etc.

So I think that rather than have a simplistic argument over "size" we'd be better off if there was instead a national obsession with "health" and not just "beauty".

She's making it our business by posting a picture of herself in a fking bikini! If she really thought it was none of our business, why shout about it?

Because she has a sense of entiltlement that people should fancy her as she is, without having to get off her ass and onto a tread mill.
