Sarkozy & the £42 million from Gaddafi
Discussion
So, it is being alleged by Mediapart in France that they have evidence to prove that Gaddafi helped fund Sarkozy's 2007 Election campaign.

Any credence to this?
This was all first alleged back in 2011, but seemed to go quiet. Is this can of worms about to open up again?

Interesting that teh Telegraph article is dated March 2011, and the MediaPart article is March 2012. Are MediaPart slow on the uptake OR, is this something for Sarkozy that won't go away?
Saif al Islam has obviousley been captured since the Telegraph report so any of the claimed detials he said he had about the bank transfers are unlikely to see the light of day now I would think. The French were pretty quick out of the traps when the airstrikes started werent they....

Why risk leaving Gaddafi with so much leverage over you?
Its like a public official acceping a bribe - once you do it once, that's it - your career is in the other guys hands.
Especially as Sarko was front and center for a bit of Libya bombing Why risk leaving Gaddafi with so much leverage over you?

The Mediapart article is recent....with them saying that THEY now have evidence to support the accusations.
My French is a little rusty, and I can't seem to find much more about this, so was wondering if the PH crowd had read something similar. So far, only the Mail is running an article about this, so was wondering if there was actually some substance to this or not.
He wouldn't be that stupid.....would he?
