What could he have possibly said that would warrant a prison sentence? Not condoning what he did, but casual racism exists all over the internet.

Is that racist? Claiming someone is dead who is in a coma?
Pretty nasty words, but not sure it warrants a prison sentence. So if i'm offended by something I read on the internet, I just need to send a strongly worded email to the police pointing them to the offending post? Hmm

Check the link. Highly offensive. As above, not sure it warrants a custodial sentence though.

Take out the words "on the internet" and yes, that's the way it works. Abusing someone due to the colour of their skin is completely unreasonable and illegal under the law of this country. The internet doesn't change that.So if i'm offended by something I read on the internet, I just need to send a strongly worded email to the police pointing them to the offending post? Hmm

Read the second link in the spoiler. If calling people n-gger and w-g isnt offensive to you then fair enough, but don't be surprised if you got a slap on the wrist for using that language in anger in public, or online.
Oh. In the original post, it stopped at 35m. I guess if using those words are illegal then fair enough...hornetrider said:

Check the link. Highly offensive.I don't think so. THe bloke is a cretin, but a custodial sentence for those two words?
I don't really get it if Im honest.
If he's like that on a blog site, I would assume that there's every chance he's no better in 'the real world'
ETA - having thought about it a little more, being sent to jail for blogging nasty things is scary - I am sure worse offences are committed which end up as suspended sentences.

Quite. Methinks Hoofy hasn't seen the full link.
Someone hacked my account. As above, for some reason it only loaded down to "35m" hence my peculiar statement about the colour of penises.
He was charged with inciting racial hatred. I just see hate and anger aimed at other Twitter users using racially offensive words. Surely inciting racial hatred would be along the lines of "all chinky c***s should be killed"?
PS I still find it amusing that "chinky" is permitted but "" isn't.
