Azeri-Armenian clashes 'may escalate' - Hillary Clinton
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has voiced concern over border clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan - hours after three Armenian soldiers died in the latest skirmishes.
Speaking in Armenia, she warned that the clashes "could escalate into a much broader conflict" in the Caucasus.
Both sides have been building up arms in recent months and refusing to compromise.

Strange how she just happened to be there.

Clinton - a bit lightweight IMO. Says a lot, but little of any solid substance.

I'm not sure that 'promises' is the right term. She's quite enthusiastic to develop NATO by including not only Georgia, but also Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and because Georgia has shown it's self so willing in Afghanistan, they have earned themselves some gold stars.

I think it's foolish. The area still has to stabilise it's relationship with Russia, and to become too familiar while the effects of their independence still need to be resolved, could cause some real problems. There's no real rush to expand NATO, and I think that it's more about Clinton looking for a legacy than a genuine effort to promote peace and stability.

I can't see any real connection with oil, but I'm sure that you'll get plenty of support from some here for trying to make a correlation.
