I ask here because I have no idea on the economics of it. If the eurozone was to collapse and France returned to the franc how would it affect us? We have around £1500 spending money, should we take the loss on the flights or go and be prepared to spend more than £10 for a beer

It's not going to collapse that quickly.

The Euro won't collapse in September, it isn't Autumn.

i would suggest that if the Euro collapsed, and the French etc went back to their own currancies, the exchage rate to the £ sterling would soar, so you'd get better value for money not worse. Even in these times of 'euro wont fail because of the bailout' the pound has strenghted against the Euro, not fallen. We took £500 to france a few weeks ao, and got 100 euros more than we would have a few months ago....

Or perhaps you'd take US dollars instead. In times of finacial uncertainty over a currancey, people value forign, stable currancy more.

Beer would increase to £58 a pint. You'd best stay in the UK
