Just seen this online too, horrible.

Initial reports are saying a number of fatalities, hopefully that number is very low.

That's tragic at this time of year. And only a few weeks after the fatal pileup just a bit up the road on the Southbound side. I hate that whole area of the M6 from Lancashire down to Birmingham. There's always something going on every week.

Can't the flamin BBC website turn off the default 'have you been affected, send your pictures and videos to..'. It's just so insensitive when it appears at the bottom of stories like this.

RIP to those involved.

+100%

All it needs now is that ginger pie-eater from Sky news to turn up and start asking the emergency services and relatives for their reactions.

As said before, a horrible thing to happen any time but especially on Christmas Day, RIP to all those who have lost their lives. cry

I've just emailed them to ask them to do that. It's so crass and insensitive.

Dreadful thing to happen at any time, but all the more distressing today of all days. Thoughts are with those touched by this awful tragedy

Sad news frown

BBC said:
Staffordshire Police initially said "several vehicles" had been involved, causing "multiple fatalities", but later said it was a one-vehicle crash.
