Scottish Referendum / Independence - Vol 3

Why wouldn't you vote Yes if you had no understanding of what it meant, but some people tell you it'll make you rich?
No clue - especially when many other people are also telling you it could make you very poor indeed
You'd think you'd at least want to understand the risks & expect the people who were asking you to make big changes to explain themselves (and then be mildly disturbed by the continual offers of free face paint, pretty flags & some kind of "Brucie bonus" of 500 quid!)
Plus endless chanting of "it'll be alright on the night!" (That Dennis Norden bloke is dead now isn't he?)

So, thread number 3. A thousand pages...... And what have we learned?
Well, the NO camp seems to be playing it quite well so far. They have raised a number of serious issues for the YES guys to grapple with (Currency, share of Debt, Faslane, Tax, Interest rates, The EU question, Civil service, costs etc) without having to actually engage with any of the questions raised by the YES camp.
On the other hand, the YES camp seems to be completely wrong footed to the extent that it would appear to have only 4 tactics left to it
1) Invent stuff/rewrite history/missues statistics/lie (legal opinions/9.3vs9.6/Olympic expenditure etc etc)
2) Personal abuse
3) Blame the NO camp for not giving them the answers to the issues above (AKA it's all Westminsters fault we don't have a clear answer on these important issues)
4) Delusion/fingers in ears/chanting lalalalalala/It'll be all right on the night/ use the Mcforce etc (much in evidence here)
I'll wager that after the next 500 pages will be more of the same. Little light will be shed, few truths unearthed.
This being the case can we make the thread about something useful? I suggest pictures of very beautiful Scottish women would be a good way to go..

Here's to 500 pages of sensible debate when those with at least a general understanding of economics don't get shouted down for "speculation" when explaining economies of scale, and the concept of a risk premium.
On the same page as the SNP's claims of "£500 per year better off if we're independent" are accepted as valid estimates of the future.
