Jumbo jet 'stuck' after landing at wrong airport
A Boeing 747 Dreamlifter cargo plane may be stuck at a minor airport in Kansas for some time after it apparently landed there by mistake.
The giant cargo jet was heading for McConnell air force base in Wichita but instead touched down at nearby Colonel James Jabara airport.
Local media report that the jet may be too large to take off from Jabara's 1,860m (6,100ft) runway.
Now Boeing are now saying it can take off from the shorter runway. I wonder if the guy who said that is going along for the ride when it trys that?

Its not stuck, just needs a tug to turn it round as there isn't the space to do that itself.
Once its facing the right way, 6000 is plenty to get it off the ground empty with a light fuel load.

747's (cargo and passenger) land at Cambridge airport.
Can't remember if they land empty or take off fitted out or the other way round though?
Either way they can't do both as the runway is too small.
Other way round. Land full, take off empty. They need a much shorter run when there is nothing in them. Can't remember if they land empty or take off fitted out or the other way round though?
