Apparently Frank Maloney, boxing promoter and UKIPer is now a woman called Kellie. I wasn't expecting that one...

Maloney has received criticism for his comments about lesbian and gay people. During the 2004 London mayoral election, he commented that he would not campaign in Camden because there were "too many gays". He later justified his remarks, telling the BBC "I don't want to campaign around gays...I don't think they do a lot for society...what I have a problem with is them openly flaunting their sexuality." James Davenport, chairman of Gay Conservatives called for Maloney's resignation as UKIP candidate, saying "Frank Maloney is a dangerous extremist and should resign or be sacked as UKIP's candidate for London mayor. UKIP must back or sack their homophobic candidate."

There was something about sex changes on Embarassing Bodies recently where it stated that everyone starts out as a female in the womb, but then the changes to become a male or remain female occur later on.
In some cases the body alters but the brain doesn't leaving the mind female but the body male (and of course the opposite where the mind ends up male but the body stays female), not sure how true it is but must be a horrible condition to live with.

Good for him/her. You only get one life, so go for it if that's what it takes.

Given his previous stance quoted below I think it fair to say he has fully emerged from that African river; De-Nile.

So they've found a way to replace his Y chromosomes with another X?

Impressive. No wonder the NHS is always short of money.

An MR2 with a body kit is still no Ferrari, no matter how un-PC is is to say so!

at his age (and his public profile) that takes some courage (was going to say 'balls' which under the circumstances would have been inappropriate)

That comment is unpleasant but just for clarity, transexual is not the same as gay. I expect most know that, but just in case.
