The BBC at it again - EU referendum
Discussion
They just can't help themselves can they? In anticipation of the coming In/out referendum the BBC seems to already have begun it's campaign for the 'In' vote.
I've just listened to a 15min feature which was completely bias, it gave the impression that all Business would vote to stay in, dribbled out a few stats about just how much we sell Europe and then gave someone trying to point out that all Businesses don't agree we should stay in about 2 seconds of air time before the presenter waded in an talked over him listing various reasons we must stay in.
Surely if they are unable to present an unbiased viewpoint they need to realise this, admit it to themselves and practice some self censorship?

You know those "Shy Tories".
I'll bet there are bazillions of 'em with an opinion on the EU who will vote with their conscience whichever way the BBC tries to spin it.
I hope we stay in personally but if the will of the people is different...
I think with a lot of people who voted to join the EEC in the 70s if we'd been told the truth about the outcome with it becoming a federal state run by a bunch of unelected idealists the result would've been very different. We weren't and now have to renegotiate. Fat chance of that happening. Well they manipulated the election very well this this will be a walk in the park.
The trouble is not Europe, not the population, not trade, it's the encroaching, hidden, undemocratic policy making.
Yes, because without the BBC and the MSM conspiracy, UKIP would have won plenty more seats and Farage would be telling Cameron what to do!The trouble is not Europe, not the population, not trade, it's the encroaching, hidden, undemocratic policy making.

The amount to which we were deliberately deceived in being taken into the "EEC" is a dreadful illustration of the lies and duplicity politician practise. The release after 40yrs of Foreign and Commonwealth document FCO 30/1048 is testment to that. Its no surprise they wanted to keep things quiet.
Here are some quotes from that document of lies and infamy : http://www.eutruth.org.uk/fco30.html

Basically, its just an illustration of the fact that the "EEC" "EU" was sold to the gullible electorate on the basis of trade, whereas its key aim is, and always has been, political union.
I heard an interview with the boss of the CBI on radio 4 yesterday. He was arguing that the UK should stay in a reformed EU and the interviewer was putting the arguments to him that reform would need treaty change and that other business leaders and business groups had said that the UK would be okay outside the EU.
Bloody anti-EU BBC.

In general the BBC is very biased toward the EU. It receives (BBC) large grants from them (EU) so perhaps not surprising, irrespective of its charter. Bloody anti-EU BBC.
"Balance" shown on R4 would be oiutweighed many times by bias on mainstream TV channels BBC1 etc

History suggests that uncertain voters (which is a fair chunk at this point) typically end up sticking with the status quo.I'll bet there are bazillions of 'em with an opinion on the EU who will vote with their conscience whichever way the BBC tries to spin it.

Why does support for change generally fall? The main reason is that uncertain voters typically end up sticking with the devil they know. If you are unsure quite what effect a change will have, it is safer to hold to the familiarity of the status quo.

So, on one hand the BBC is so incompetant that it can't even handle the sacking of a punchy presenter, yet on the other it's able to orchestrate an effective coup? Ok... The trouble is not Europe, not the population, not trade, it's the encroaching, hidden, undemocratic policy making.

And if the beeb is so 'lefty', why would it 'fix it for Cameron'?

Fortunately this referendum isn't being ran by the SNP. Else we would get continuous referendums until the "correct" settled will of the UK people was achieved.
You mean like the Irish referendum on the Euro?TTwiggy said:
