I have to agree with the school here, I don't think they are promoting extremism, they are promoting Islamic Values.

Why we in the West worship "celebrities", is beyond me....

Depends what they mean by "Islamic values".

To some, "Islamic values" means "beheading the infidels". Needs clarifying.

Aside from that, I'm not sure I'm happy with ANY religious 'values' being taught in schools. It is indoctrination. Teach them this at age 16 when they can make their own minds up.

Orthodox Muslim values taught as mentioned in the article are against UK values though.

And judging from the leaflet shown, they should be closed down for terrible English!

Religion should not be taught as fact in school, we need to educate people, not pander to fairy tales...

In a section on jihad he tells Muslims they should be prepared to "expend ... even life" to create a world organised "according to Allah's just order".

That doesn't sound extremist to you?

Do idea what on earth you're on about. The core criticism seems to focus not on celebrity worship but the schools anti-Semetism. Do you not think this is a very valid and severe problem?

Quickly took a peek at del mar's previous posts. I suspect he is saying that the values are *extreme* and that's because they are actually correctly representing Islamic beliefs...

Re Celebrity point. Bit of a whoosh for me..

Golders Green does not seem particularly unwelcoming to the non-Jewish.

One man's "terrorism" would appear to be another man's "Islamic Values".

Sadly, listening to both Muslims and non-Muslims, this is at the very core of what is going wrong; the actual frontier of the conflict. Peace, tolerance, civilisation and modernity, versus the Middle Ages.

Not an actual school providing full time education to children though, is it? It's additional tuition for children after they've finished their normal education.

I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it's very different to previous cases of actual schools teaching in a similar style.

Maybe the incomers have just embraced the natural bloody-mindedness of the area. We're always demanding they integrate anyway.

Even before the Vikings it seems that the area around York and Yorkshire itself was a focal point for numerous invasions, the influx brought among many things such as Henges and Burrows from other cultures. Just see Islam in that area as just another sort of invasion, invasion by usurpation this time. It's pre-destined, the arc of history played out for us all to watch, some of us aghast in horror at it or other too dumb/stupid/blind to see it at all. We live in interesting times.

Nothing really, other than the fact the immigrants who came en-masse, initially and primarily to work the the textile industry, generally all came from a very specific, geographic area. The rest has been done to death.

This is the correct answer.

School should be a place where kids get a break from the idiocy of their parents.
