How the hell does something like this happen in a public place? Must be terrible for the parents and girls.

Not great news for Merlin either following the serious accident at Alton Towers last year.

I was thinking it, but I didn't think anyone would post it.

Two small children have had the course of their lives changed forever for the worse. Not exactly the subject of cheap jokes.

Humour in adversity has always been the British way, it does not mean people find what happened to these kids funny.

Please don't get all PC and change the coping mechanism that has done us proud for centuries.

Not sure there is a great deal of political correctness involved here. Or funny for that matter. I can't recall anyone finding child abuse funny. On the other hand the posts above are just shallow stwits. As a parent with a kid of toddler age, it doesn't strike me as hilarious at all. It rather disturbs me something like this can happen. Your mileage obviously varies. Cos adversity. Yeah.

You think you are unique in that ?

Please lay down the rules and boundaries for all of us so we know

Lay them down? As opposed to being obvious, transparent and self evident? Nah. You carry on with your child abuse gags. Apparently you know the boundary between hilarity and vom inducing. Carry on.

I have a two year old son. Believe me, I find what happened at LEGOLAND just as repulsive as anyone else. I try and not think about things like this too much as it just gets depressing, so instead, I cheered myself up by typing a throwaway LEGO pun. thumbup
Would you be as keen to use such throw away remarks if it was your son that was abused, your probably a decent guy, but don`t be foolish enough to believe everyone on this site is of the same mind.

Certainly not, but personally I would be suspicious of anyone making jokes about having sex with kids, If you find that funny then carry on, it`s not something I find funny, but you may well do.

The day before yesterday a family visited legoland for a day out. While there 2 children were sexually assaulted by a young man. The culprit is not found.

We don't know much more. But I'm struggling to see the chuckles. You obviously disagree. I think you're a tt for thinking that. I'm not sure what more there is to say. you obviously think your right to free speech and fun times means no topic is off topic. I think you are an unmitigated ahole for that reason. No, i doubt the mods will stamp on this. But I still think you are a fking arse for defending the position as opposed to just saying 'my bad'.

Ones that are funny are OK. The problem with that is that "funny" is subjective and tastes change, as does the audience. Racist jokes will make a room full of white supremacists laugh, for example.

What's happening here is that a lot of people have found the joke not funny. As did I; as I said, I realised there was a joke there, but I straight afterwards realised that it wasn't particularly funny, and was very distasteful. Were the situation less serious, and the joke more amusing, it may have been better perceived.
