when amaericans sue each other, its always for obscene amounts. i mean, where is this woman supposed to find $50million?

what happens in these situations? say i'm a yank and spill tea on a woman's ress and it mentally scars he for life. she sues me for ten billion but i only have 50p, what does she do then?


eta - not wanting to trivialise this womans injuries btw, but its always the same. $200mill all up. its s shame, but not worth that.

Did the drug play a part in the chimps actions? Was the owner dosing the chimp, was she negligent? I agree the owner should pay, but 50 mill is a bit much.

Whilst 50 million is a lot, this woman is never going to have a normal life again and is probably going to have many many costly operations and medication that she may have to pay for (depending how good her medical insurance cover is) Trying to get away with it on a work based compensation is pathetic and probably means a much lower pay out (they wouldn't be going down that route otherwise)
