Cameron and Osbourne, dead men walking??
Discussion
Another day, another project fear scare story.......it's becoming sadly predictable now, the only thing missing is the plagues of locusts and deaths of first born. I guess that will be bowled out the day before the vote.
Given the underhand tactics Dave and Gideon have employed in this referendum, the use of the "impartial civil service", combined with the blatant misuse of public funds to pay for propaganda, are they dead men walking once the results are in. The blue on blue attacks by Cameron on members of his cabinet and party, the lies and misinformation, will the tories turn on him and Osbourne afterwards? The tiny majority of the tories means that effectively the rebels can block anything they want fairly easily....on this basis will Cameron and Osbourne still be in office at the end of summer??

As opposed to which dead honest, no hype, no misinformation, leave MP?Given the underhand tactics Dave and Gideon have employed in this referendum, the use of the "impartial civil service", combined with the blatant misuse of public funds to pay for propaganda, are they dead men walking once the results are in. Cameron is going in any case. If he is outed by a campaign from disgruntled leave MPs, then it will be a pyrrhic victory, and might even hurt their re-election chances.
What we have to hope for in the event of stay winning is an honest acceptance by the leavers and an honouring of the population's decision.
If leave wins, then Cameron might well resign once the figures are in. That'll stabilise the FTSE.
How the hell the Conservatives are going to manage to govern, whichever side of the coin the referendum falls. Interesting future ahead. Austria with a far right governing party, I don't know but it's just another European Country population voicing their discontentment with the E.U. Particularly immigration apparently.
Well to be honest this is the thing I don't understand.
Cameron and Ozzy are merrily trumpeting the forthcoming recession, house price slide, world war three etc bUt as PM and Chancellor, shouldn't they be preparing a strategy to avoid those events if we vote to leave
I cannot understand why politically they have allowed themselves to personally become so involved. They could have taken a neutral position, commented a few times they are broadly in favour of Europe and allowed another hitter to lead/take the fall.
All a bit odd politically, Dave I can kind of understand, as he is off. By Ozzy is gambling.

Not enough time to photoshop Cameron's face on Arnold Vosloo blowing locusts out of his mouth so Charlton Heston has to do for now.

+1
I don't get it either. CMD surely realises that a very large part of his own parties support base are going to vote leave. It's the same for Labour.
But for some reason he's going all out for 'in' when all he had to do was say a referendum was promised as part of the election mandate, it's being delivered and it's upto the people to vote how they feel. And I honestly don't think his intervention is exactly helping the stay in campaign.
Like alot of others I sense some desperation in these daily 'they'll be a recession, your house price will collapse' announcements. And anything Osborne says I just filter out as bullst, because he's a bullstter of the highest order.

Cameron saying he will not serve a third term as PM if they are re elected has alarm bells ringing. Slip off to the back benches for a short while then off to a job in the EU.....
Corrected that for you. Hence the strong desire to stay in it, he doesn't want to lose his cushy pension plan.I've been a bit surprised how hard both Cameron and Osborne have been fighting for remain, it's been a bit tooth and nail at times.
Sometimes in politics it seems like politians make a show of the party political fight for the public to demonstrate the democratic process, but the referendum public debate has gone beyond that with the blue vs blue conflicts.
I have wondered whether Cam and Os have a personal vested interest beyond feeling that remain is in the national interest. I suppose once they decided to back remain they felt they had to go all in and lead from the front, but it seems a bit of a winner takes all, all or nothing position.

I can't remember when the tory party MPs ever sang from the same hymn sheet. It is a feature of them. We glibly talk of 'the tories' but it is a wide church.Thatcher, for all the criticisms, has to be acknowledged as the one post war tory PM who kept her party on side. For a while that is. Eventually the squabbling started. Blair, for all the criticisms, has to be acknowledged as the one labour PM who kept his party in line. He left on his own terms and it all fell apart. Both long=serving PM and leaders of their party, the difference being that Thatcher was unpopular at the start, Blair at the end.
If we vote for remain then the most disruptive elements in the tory party will have been defeated. Whether this is likely to limit their following or not is open to question. I think, though, that if the remain vote wins then Cameron will be lauded by his own supporters and those anxious to prove they are not poor losers, but then he's going to leave. His replacement might well have to fight the same battles.
There is so much bull that's given out from both sides. I'm thinking of jobs and opportunities for my kids and grandchildren.
It is a disaster really. Some Brexit MP was saying at the weekend that he thought that they would be fighting by Queensbury rules.
The opinion poles have not changed massively all year, so clearly one side runs the risk of egg on face. I thought it would be quiet, polite and sensible debate, perhaps with a big push by either side during the last few days. This daily farcical ranting is nothing short of an utter disgrace. And we still have a full month of this tosh to go.
The very worst outcome for me would be that the party implodes and dear Jeremy gets elected next time around, he must be feeling pretty smug at the moment.
