It seems Mr Personality is to be rewarded and will become a global education envoy to the UN secretary-general.

WTFyikes

What educational interest has he ever had ? All his ministerial life was spent in the treasury.

Jobs for the boys ?

Still, at least as its UN, he'll not be making a nuisance of himself here.

Do people object to gubermint ministers/PMs taking on such jobs
No, not when it is at least justified.

Blair's role as peace envoy has some international credence with his work in N Ireland.

is this just a spite/hate thread?
Gordon and a role promoting education do not appear as natural bedfellows. It just seems a nice earner for one of the boys.

UN "We have a vacancy for an education envoy, who's next on the list........." IMHO

He's still an MP and has made how many appearances in the house, let alone speeches, since losing office ?

He doesn't turn up for his existing job, why would this be any different?
Because it involves travel perhaps. And turning left on the plane grade travel no doubt, too.

Maybe he could do "sex and travel" ?
