Reading this thread started as a piss boiler till a mate asked me what would happen to me if I had time off work due to an injury sustained at work.
Last place I was cards in with paid 3 months sick pay at full then 3 months at half, but if the injury was sustained in the workplace, regardless of fault, they just carried on paying at full until you returned. If that is not the case for police officers then I can at least understand her motivation.
But her job is to chase burglars, a person calls her and she goes to investigate and falls over. That is not in the workplace, she can sue all she wants for not being provided with a torch by work or for not giving her proper training on how to step on to a kerb but she is not suing her workplace she is suing the victim of a crime who she was supposed to be helping.

Whats next? IMO this will set a massive precedent.
