I saw this on the Tube platform this morning. It was bad enough going into the station past notices telling you that the Police could stop you to ask questions to prevent terrorism. This government really is trying to turn this country into a police state. Most people still have the common sense not to go along with it, as I tested by taking a photograph of the poster to see whether anyone would challenge me or run off to call the Police (no one did).
I would never have believed in 1997 that Labour was capable of this. That they would f
k up the economy was a given, but it took a long time because they took over early on the upswing. That they would inflate the public sector was obvious. This was beyond my worst fears about them.
