Following on from the two other threads this is fresh one solely to draw attention to the Bristol East fiasco and how you can help bring this matter to the wider public attention and hopefully get something done about it.

As the story says she has been reported to the Police, good. However she is still (to my knowledge) standing as a candidate and has a very strong chance of winning next week. Now, is it just me or does this whole situtation make you feel a bit sick, and very angry?

If so then please complain, below are the contact details and the chap who needs to be contacted is Stephen Mcnamara, Acting Returning Officer for Bristol East.

The more emails/faxes/letters he recieves the better, if McCarthy is returned as an MP next week it will be a travesty. Oh and to all the "writing an email wont make any difference" crowd, all i can say is if that is the case then it's very sad state of affairs but at least by speaking up we've done something.

Just had a reply to my email, ARO has made a complaint to the Police and forwarded my email to them. For whats it's worth i've done my bit.

Every time i think about it it makes me angry. How can she still be allowed to stand after what she's done, really makes me angry. You expect it in a banana republic but not in the country with the "mother of Parliaments"

By virtue of his complaint to the Police, he's more or less reported himself.

I really hope it does, publicly, in the media.

However, as far as we are aware Ms McCarthy is still the standing candidate for Labour, her name will still be on the ballot papers on thursday...this is the issue i want clarifying!!

I don't know what else can be done now, i know it's in the hands of the Police etc (ha) but that doesn't fill me with confidence.
