Buy to let in Orlando - madness/reasonable?
Discussion
Happy to put anyone in touch with the guy who manages ours over in Kissimmee. He can probably answer any questions.
It's not a rental anymore and is used purely by family and friends as and when. One thing that ruined it for me was the fact that when we went over it didn't feel so homely due to all the signage etc etc around the house for H&S regulations. It felt like a rental house rather than a home.

Something else to think about:
Orlando is one of the worst places in the world for sinkholes suddenly opening up and swallowing houses.... one of them I saw on TV disappeared into the bowels of the earth with the occupant still inside... never found a body..

The signs saying the crockery might not be clean were certainly off-putting.Knowing the US, it wouldn't surprise me if you need that stuff anyway - I think the pool safety measures apply regardless.

There aren't any 'pool rules' stuck up there now so I don't think it does unless it shouldn't have been taken down.Other problem, people don't look after short term lets, stains on carpets, marks on walls, things broken that go unmentioned. So you visit yourself and you're confronted with your holiday home in a sorry state.
Unless it's being run purely as a business and you're not going to want to stay there a few times a year I wouldn't bother.
