My premium bonds are returning higher interest than I'm paying on the mortgage, but then it is currently only 1.49% smile

1.49%! good skills. No mortgage for me at the moment, so nowhere else to put the funds. £25 again this month though.

Sold my father in laws house so three of us now have the max until we invest his money in something long term. I eagerly anticipated this months draw - bring it on

Me - 4 * £25
Mrs - 3 * £25
Fil - 2 * £25

Total for £90k £225 this month
3% return...it won't last.
My Man Maths make it 0.25% return scratchchin
The return for that month is 0.25% - but for a year that equates to 3% return.
This month:
Me - 3 * £25
Mrs - 0
Fil - 1 * £25

Silly HSBC setting up equity release mortgages with 'no higher than 1% above base rate' back in 2002 hehe

I was on a .99% tracker with Egg until i moved recently. I know someone who's on a .5% lifetime tracker i think.

I'm on .395 above base for life with C&G. My mortgage was on the news a few years ago when interest rates crashed. Turns out there's about 1500 of us & we're clinging on to it for dear life at the mo.

I must be one of the 1500 then biggrin to tell the truth I thought I was on 0.25 over base for life but I haven't really checked because it's costing me diddly-squat for £150k

We live in hope!

However it does bring me to ask the question again - does anyone actually know anybody that has won more than £10,000 on the bonds!?
