I see Natwest have messed up and people that are expecting transfers etc haven't got an up to date balance from yesterday.

Today is my payday, and the company have sent it, but my balance shows the same as yesterdays (i.e. low :P )

Anyone managed to get through to them, I can't get any time frame on the whole issue...

Just checked mine and my expenses have been paid in today, payday isn't until Monday for me, so fortunately not a problem. Total disaster for some people though.

Explains why I have been expecting a huge chunk of cash from my Franchisor and nothing is showing. Might have to ring and apologise....

Message when logging in to online banking... looks like the problem is on-going.

"Important Information for our customers message timed at 06:30 on 22 June

Unfortunately we are once again experiencing technical issues with our systems and account balances have not updated properly overnight. This means where money has gone into a customers account, there may be a delay in it appearing on their balance.

We can assure our customers that this problem is strictly of a technical nature and we continue to work hard to resolve this.

We also recognise this is an unacceptable inconvenience for our customers, for which we apologise.

Staff in our branches and at our call centres are ready and available to answer any questions and help where they can. "

Wondered why my weekly text message from Natwest didn't reflect my expenditure yesterday.

I haven't been able to access my business accounts for two days now, on Wednesday they didnt update until after mid day.
That means I am sitting here with little to do as I cannot process my clients payments. No doubt this will mean a flood of calls demanding to know why people have not been paid.

I thought this had been sorted yesterday. But a rather large sum I was expecting in claimed expenses hasn't come in today either.

How can they let this happen, for over 24 hrs?

I might move to first direct at this rate.

its a very serious technical issue around batch payments. There is FSA rules in place that if teir 1 processing fails for 3/5 consecutive days you are no longer a bank.

My mate just logged on to RBS with whom he has a current account and savings account.

His current account has vanished.

He is not a happy bunny!

Was expecting my wages today but they haven't gone in.
Good job I post on Pistonheads and have 6 months wages in cash stashed under the floor boards of the garage.

Yes, I secretly wanted to wait till next month then make the call

"I should have been paid in June but I've just noticed it doesn't seem to have gone in" - everyone else around immediately thinking you're on a LOT more than them wink

Creating a fking nightmare for us.

We have customers waiting to collect their cars - we obviously cannot release vehicles without cleared funds.

We can't even ring the bank for confirmation - they can't see the information either!

This will cause Nat West no end of problems I should think.

What happens if Direct Debits to utility companies can not be taken - could this harm consumers credit ratings?

I believe this is covered by the direct debit guarantee thing?

We've been unable to pay our staff salaries today, luckily we don't have many staff and they are all understanding of the situation. Very glad I don't have a factory full of angry minimum wagers who live week to week and probably need their wages more desperately.
