I think we will see the ftse raise above the 6k level, but I feel it will be short lived, there are still too many issues facing the markets in 2012.

The companies in the FTSE 100 are in much better shape than the UK, if the banks and miners hold up it may not be too long.

I am still buying but slowly 'drip feeding' money in. Just in case.

We are almost there. Let's hope the FTSIE can keep pushing on.

?? I thought you were drip feeding.

A fast rise does not suit your needs.

Although I suppose you can feed on the red days and smile on the green onessmile

I am still drip feeding but have a fair bit already invested including a pension so good to see the index rise.

Well we didn't see 6000 this year so far. Anybody think it will drop through 5000?

Dropped 500pts in 16 days! Think we will see sub 5000 and worse, unfortunately I think things are going to get a fair bit worse before they get better.

Trouble with that is that there no man ringing a bell to signify the bottom. I'm sticking with my 'drip feed' strategy.

That comment was made in February. The market got close but did not reach 6000.

At the risk of sticking my neck right out I see this period as a buying opportunity. A lot of FTSIE companies are in much better shape than the start of the recession and paying excellent dividends.

Still 'drip feeding' into the market.
