Morning all
I'm hoping for some advice from the PH hive mind please.
My wife is a self employed jeweller, and works from a wooden cabin at the bottom of our garden. We have always been insured with the NFU, which have covered both house and workshop, however recently the price of said insurance has been rising and rising. As a result we decided to look at alternative insurance companies. However all the other ones we've contacted have stated that they're not willing/able to cover us, due to the dangerous nature of what SWMBO has in the workshop (basically a gas bottle flame torch. The bottle being exactly the same as you'd use on a gas BBQ!).
Now if the NFU price is reasonable, of course we'll continue to pay it (also if it's the only option!) but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and could recommend any other insurance companies we could have a look at please?
Thanks in advance!

I've had the same problem too. Last year scouted around various insurers and declined by all so forced to stick with original provider. Rather peeved as somebody is in most of the time and at night, we have multiple security devices and a baseball bat by the bed. Joking there.
Anybody out there wanting some insurance business???
