Have been doing the above via filling in a form and handing in at my bank, of course they charge quite a bit for this service! Can anyone reccomend an online site where I can sort out the transfers online?

I've used XE Trade a few times, the wire fee is £12 for transferring GBP to USD, however depending how much you are transferring you will probably save even more since their exchange rates are likely to be better too:

It does take a few days to set up an account though, so apply in good time.

Thanks, I transfer money on a monthly basis via my bank and get business rate for the exchange, will double check what my bank charge and look into it more.

I have both a hifx and xe account but require something that will deliver cash asap before I leave for Canada. It's only going to be £1k but would like he best rate i can get - any ideas?
