I have recently bought two Bodum kettles...I have the larger Ibis kettle in my kitchen (in lime green with a matching Bodum toaster which is a fantastic bit of kit) and the newer but slightly smaller Bodum kettle for my gf' (in white to match her whiet Bodum toaster)... they do the newer one in John Lewis so you can go have a look.

I've had Bodum kettles now for the last 8 years or so... never ever had a problem with them.

You can get some very good deals online for these at the moment... i paid £72 for a kettle and toaster through an internet retailer last week

I'd highly recommend a Tefal (or similar) kettle where you press a button and it creates instant hot water per cup. Not only is it quicker it's reduced my electric bill (I like a brew a bit too much wink )

It's usual just to put into the kettle as much water as you need at the time although I've seen that some of the elderly haven't got to grips with this and still boil up a kettle full.

Brand snobbery has now extended to kettles. Are you people serious?

no we just like something diff from argos - the ibis bodum one looks a lot diff to other kettles - if you're a bloke youve got to see the attraction of an all black moulded gadget whatever it is!

Magimix - boils very quickly compared to anything I've had before. About £70 from John Lewis I think we paid

Got this myself along with the mathcing toaster and along with them looking good i can also boil water and make toast (yes up to 4 slices! )

Who could ever guess though that choosing a kettle would be such a big job biglaugh too much selection i say.

A £4.99 Tescos Value job heats water to 100C boiling, same as a £50.00 job does.

I'm on my third Bodum kettle - I love them. Very simple design. I have both black and blue. Excellent customer service too. Recommended.

I bought one of these and it is superb. You can fill it opening the lid while holding the handle or fill through the spout and it boils a cup fairly quickly and does not 'over boil'

If these Bodum's are so good why are you on your 3rd out of interest?

But does it have a boil dry warning and is it cordless? As both are features worth having.

I never said anything was wrong with the £50.00 job, I just said that they all boil water to 100C.
