Finished article! Lighting is a bit weird on the iphone photos... Yes, rare photos of me in them! The wooden table/chairs and barstools have been around for years and will be replaced.

Looking good, you must be a happy man.....

Out of interest, how big is the room now? Difficult to tell from the pictures.

6.10m x 3.30m, plus the utility room is 2.8 x 1.7m. The utility room is now a utility room as opposed to the kitchen extension which it was previously!

What you can't see behind the behemoth of a fridge/freezer is the cupboard space (in a slightly wider section) which takes up the same amount of space as the french doors area.

Loving the heated floor and wine cooler - our wine consumption has rocketed drunk#

ETA - the black wall is a blackboard wink

Very smart. Interestingly, you don't seem to have very many eye-level cupboards. Was that a deliberate plan, or you just don't need them?

None at all, and by design - the 3 60cm x 215cm cupboards behind the fridge/freezer provide an awful lot of space. We're thinking of a walnut shelf above the microwave for cookery books.

Yep! Including Bosch fridge/freezer and oven and fitting! Remember there are 3 large cupboards out of shot.

Said earlier that we are almost at the 'get go' stage having paid a small deposit at WREN for our kitchen. We can still cancel if we wish at this stage. Went to an indie kitchen specialist yesterday, brilliant advise and friendly, sadly their kitchens start as low as 20k they advised. Back to Wren!

even with 3 large cupboards added to that layout,it isnt a 20k kitchen.

I have a kitchen booked for the new year which is probably 3 times the size including the utility which is coming in at 17k ish inc fitting and vat
(inclduing integrated dishwasher, microwave, pop up sockets, pull out larder, ceramic sink, glass extractor approximately 8 curved cupoards and 30mm composite tops with 200mm upstandsand large 1200x750mm splashback behind the range cooker...but not including plumbing or electrical works mind. and the guy is buying his own range and american fridge freezer)

I can think of at least one independent that starts at quite a bit less then that (unless the kitchen is seriously big).

We're in Bucks and looking for a new kitchen, utility room & conservatory fit out (new floor, new ceiling & lighting) - been looking at Simon Taylor Kitchens, any views? and any alternative recommendations?
