Singlecoil and nick, what pull out bin drawers would you recommend? Wren only stock small looking containers so we said we would source our own, are there any bigger than the 2x 35L plus two smaller containers for a 600 unit?

We've fitted a 40L Howdens pull out bin in to a Wren 30cm unit smile

Do you mean the sort of thing that fits inside a cupboard, where you open the door then access the pull out bins, or something that the door fits to, where opening the door opens the bins? And how many bins do you need?

We've not got as far as deciding on bins yet. The ones that go inside the unite seem a bit small though, so we may just cary on using the standalone bin we have.

Saying that, having read the above post, 40 litres isn't bad, may have to have a look at Howdens.

The latter kind. Two bins min with maximum volume to go in a 600 unit.

Full height (720mm ish), or is there anything else in the unit? And is it just one door?

One of these might suit if your cabinet is deep enough (deep = front to back in kitchen speak) otherwise there are other depth units on that site.

This is one of the bins we use. 600 wide cabinets will not be only 2 bins. Better to go narrower and pack out in cabinet to gain more smile

Just a word of warning on Wren, they came round to do a free measure up to check the kitchen fitted last week. Whilst they were there I asked them to quote for a few bits of MFC and a small drawer front and small door front to finish off the utility room, boxing in the washing machine and covering the electricty meter. The designer said the the MFC would be around £75 a sheet (which I have already bought for use in the kitchen at that price) and the doors £10 and £30 each. So I was expecting no more than £200 all in for what was only 4 pieces of wood.

I've just got the quote through and apparently the "best price" they can do them for is £458, so I have told them to foxtrott oscar. I have just priced the exact bits of DIY Kitchens, who will even cut and edge every bit of MFC to size for me for £130.

They clearly think that having a got a good price on £6,600 worth of kitchen units they can try and pull my pants down on subsequent "extras". Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of ordering from them.

The more items they sell you on a single order, the higher percentage of discount they can offer to you. As you have already made one order, they probably can't just add this stuff on to it and will be creating a new order which means their hands will be tied.

I'd assume they basically don't want the job, so give a silly price and hope you don't go for it, but if you do, because of the price, it would warrant the hassle.
It isn't just Wren that does this ....... some of the very hi-end guys (50K plus kitchen makers) do it as well.
Plus as above reply. Its a numbers game. Buy one, its X amount, by 20 its alot cheaper

The first order was only a week ago, they had said I could add anything I wanted to the order up to delivery.

Every other company that I have placed big orders with, such as Ridgeons, Trade Tiler, Ceramic Tiles, UKOakDoors, U-Heat have been fine, they would never dream of turning round and saying we sold x to you yesterday for £100, if you want another today it will be £250.

Fair enough, the designer is probably being told if they sell it at the initially quoted price that they will take a cut of it from their commission - trust me, this happens a lot. I know 2 people that work for Wren, the company is absolutely mental.

I can understand why it might not be the most lucrative additional bit of business for them but it's not great from the customer's point of view.

I had a Wren kitchen put into my house. They were a bunch of incompetents from start to finish. You name it we had, wrong units sent, lots of bits missing, bad fitters (I threw one fitter out when he was being rude to my wife). When dealing with the office I called numerous times during the weeks and rarely received a call back that was requested. The showroom we dealt with had 4 different managers in the space of the six months I dealt with them, that should speak volumes. I eventually got a decent amount of compensation back because of the hassle but I would not recommend them.

On the plus side the units are alright and its looks nice enough.

I agree, but a designer would not lose £200 out of their own commission just to keep a customer happy. It's the management at fault, the designer would want to keep their customer happy.

The joys of dealing with a big corporate company, rather than a small independent.

We used wren for our new kitchen, its really good, focal point of the house and very happy.

We paid 11K all in including granite worktops, bosche appliances, etc including full instillation, this started at about 25K so haggled hard.

Take a look here for pics etc:
