The 'ceiling' is very old plaster & lathe so, until we have that replaced, can't take the weight; we were lucky to get curtains up & as a result we can't easily fit blinds or shutters frown...
Our old shutters fitted to the window frames.

We had a bay not dissimilar to yours. They were fitted to the lower window openings.

Our conservatory has Suntek film fitted from Luxico here : www.visionwindowfilms.co.uk

Fitted myself, privacy film has a mid grey colour, mildly reflective when looked at from the outside.

Needs a 40% higher light on outside to be privacy, works the other way round at night with an internal light on but by then the curtains are drawn.

I don't like the 'pretty' etched designs.
Go for one of the simple fine repeating designs and they actually work very well without being too obvious or 'decorative'. Much more effective than a tint/reflective would be for obscuring the view without very losing much in the way of light. They also work OK at night.

There's a bit of effort in fitting but nothing spectacular unless you windows are really big, which yours aren't.

One recommendation is to buy the film cut to the size of the glazing units rather the visible bit if you're fitting on double glazing - that way you can pop the beading off & have the film run properly to the edges.

And if you're fitting to something that isn't modern measure all the windows individually as you'll find variations in size. Though you'll find this on the modern stuff too so just measure everything! Otherwise you'll find the film doesn't fit...

Also if you're good enough at the fitting there is always the option to only part cover the glass (say the bottom half) upstairs so you block the view in but don't cover too much of the window.

Thank you smile. Perfect biggrin

We can't use blinds due to the cats, we've learned (from our rental) that they get climbed (unlike the curtains laugh
