Which cordless vacuum?
Discussion
I keep aiming to buy a cordless Hoover to just suck up the cobwebs but all the Amazon reviews seem to be of people who have just bought the item and think it's amazing or people who have used it for at least a month and now say the battery only lasts 10 minutes.
I don't want a top end solution. We have a couple of normal Dysons for the proper hoovering but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has found a cheapy cordless vacuum that performs pretty well?

Vax blade 24v. £150 but powerful enough to suck the carpet up.I don't want a top end solution. We have a couple of normal Dysons for the proper hoovering but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has found a cheapy cordless vacuum that performs pretty well?
I have a V6 and it was easily the best purchase for my house!
This is a very good deal - refurbished from Dyson. Cheap way to get a good vacuum cleaner!

Recently needed a new vacuum and found this on offer:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SL55UME/
Bargain and flipping brilliant so far (mind you haven't had a new one for 20 years so things have moved on technically!).
(Oh, you'll have to spend your JL voucher on something else.)

Doesn't do the edges and the collection thing gets clogged at the inlet, not that powerful either.

I've got the V6 and think the suction is fine but find emptying the container a complete PITA. Open lid and the dirt doesn't come out unless I prod it - anyone else have this issue ?
Yep I do but apparently has been overcome by with the V8. I'm late to the party here, but the V8 is a massive improvement over the V6, the battery, but also the way you empty it is much improved.
We have carpet everywhere and I can do almost all of our 4 bedroom house on a single charge, i've only run out of battery once. I don't usually do the whole house at once, but it's so convenient that you end up doing it more often.
Would V8 again.

A couple of queries on the subject of cordless vacuums, if anyone in the know could answer?
The Dyson V6/8's - presumably you can use the direct-drive cleaner head without the long pole thingy? i.e. for cleaning the stairs
Also, I'm about to embark on a five bedroom house. What cordless vacuum's are going to have enough battery power to do all five bedrooms, hallway and stairs in one go?
Thanks

Yes you get a variety of heads, they all fit and work on the long pole or directly to the unit itself. The Dyson V6/8's - presumably you can use the direct-drive cleaner head without the long pole thingy? i.e. for cleaning the stairs

We have a 4 bedroom, kitchen, utility room, 2 bathroom, 1 downstairs loo, kitchen, dining room, lounge, stairs and hallway... I don't knwo how much our cleaner does on Turbo versus normal mode but she manages to do all of the house every week and doesn't' have to resort to the traditional Vacuum.
Would it have the battery capacity to do a 5th bedroom and assume all the other rooms are a bit larger? who knows!
The other thing as someone else has said as it's so easy we find we do just run it over the hardwood floors more often to pick up dog hairs!
