All I can think is that it would cost £17,000 an hour to heat in winter...
I can only agree. Ours was a shock. 1st bill for winter 2.5k! WTF? I told her "It's a lovely house but it will be a bugger to heat" did she listen? Did she f**k. :sigh:
The ladies only care about being warm. How much, is not something they worry about smile

Christ. My gas bill is £26 a month; its a very well insulated mid terrace. I would cry a bit if it cost me that much to heat my gaff.

that's amazing, can hardly believe the price. I know it's relatively isolated, but that's part of the point, and it's come up before but how much is a helicopter to buy and run?!

No doubt just me but I did find that Horse Lamp(?) on picture 14 in the entrance hall strangely amusing.

Jesus, you can't even rent a studio flat near where I live for that! Is that price actually correct?

I win (or lose really). Mine was costing about £900 a month during the cold winter a couple of years back.
I used 116,000Kw Gas in the year yikes

Not just you. As also found in the BA lounges at Heathrow.

Sorry, hadn't seen it before. Pretty remarkable though. Not sure it would just be the fuel costs though, having looked into it, the maintenance costs would also, I suspect, be staggering.

Lovely. Just lovely. Some refurnishing to make it a bit less old fashioned inside, and that's the one.

To be fair though I bet you stop hearing the trains pretty quick.

I moved from a leafy suburb to a flat above a shop with a bus stop outside. The first morning I was woken up by a rattly bus literally 20 foot from my head. Within a few days I didn't notice them anymore

It's just all the diesel fumes making you drowsy so don't notice after a while.

I lived as close as that to a main line, no fumes as it was mainly leccy trains, but the noise was annoying if you didn't have double glazing.

Of no significance but I wonder how you access the house from the street? Pic 22 appears to show a pretty substantial garage. But the aerial view doesn't seem to show a gap between the older houses.

Look at streetview, you drive down the side of the house that built it in it's garden. 84a name plate on the side of the fence and for sale sign up.

I've lived near train tracks for years, wouldn't bother me. I also lived in a flat right by a bus stop on Walworth Rd when I was 20/21, I got used to the sound of busses about 20ft from my window within a week.

I lived next to a major road for a year when I was a student, after a while, I barely noticed it.

The problem comes, of course, when you try to sell a place like that. I reckon 50% of potential buyers wouldn't even consider it. Which is why, i imagine, that it's up for rent...
