While it's great to have a pop at the Daily Mail, where would you say the heart of the Cotswolds is?
It's on the edge of the cotswolds. It's practically on the escarpment. But thanks for the map of where I live smile

When an Estate Agent is selling your house if it's in an area from ;

Reading in the East
Bristol in the West
Birmingham in the North

And

Poole in the South.

You're in the Cotswolds.laugh

The only exception being that if you are IZn Poole then you are either on the Jurassic Coast, close to the English Riviera or a short distance from the world renowned Sandbanks.

I'm not sure I've seen a better way of spending circa £3million. Astonishing doesn't seem a suitable superlative. I cannot imagine what would prompt taking a bath of around £17million on the outlay

That article says the property is pretty much unaffected by the new power line. If you look at the plans for the new power line, they see to follow the route of the existing power line in the vicinity: https://www.ssepd.co.uk/BeaulyDenny/ProjectDocumen...

So it really cannot have reduced the value from £15m to £3m; it simply wasn't worth £15m originally and he spent a silly amount on the build.

Not local to me, but an icon up for sale.

With an iconic restoration bill looming too.

Thread regular. Magnificent place. £874k in stamp duty. A huge responsibility involved in taking on that place, and money is probably the minority of that.

Impressive in some ways, but a bit too cold and clinical for my taste.

Fair point, but I'm impressed by the amount space given over to wine storage in a fairly small house. You're not buying the furnishings.

And integral boat parking...........the place also has a helicopter facility, the late owner used to fly over my house in his little chopper. I think he parked it on a retractable platform over the swimming pool.
