Garage flooring
Discussion
I will do another thread once the garage is fully cleared, however as mentioned, I went with Duramat floor tiles on existing concrete, emulsion paint on blocokwork (mist and 2 coats) and New Age cabinets. Really pleased with the result, I just now need to figure out what car will habit the new space!
Only drawback with the New Age kit from Costco is that I had to order a set, and such one unit was always surplus to requirements. Hopefully I can shift on eBay!

I’m pretty sure I’ll be ordering Duramat tiles this week!

Can I ask what you paid for the durmast per m2 Dan and how easy they were to fit?
Price as per link- https://duramat.co.uk/product/garage-flooring-pack...Dead easy to fit. Used a jigsaw to chop through, and Stanley to debur. Black does get dusty, but I can live with that given they were so much cheaper than the grey alternative!
Sales and delivery were spot on- good company to deal with.
What happens if you spill oil or coolant on these interlocking tiles? Are they tight enough fitting that it stays on the surface long enough to clean up? I'm hopefully rebuking my garage this year and it was only when I mentioned these type tiles to a friend that the issue of liquids leaking g through and getting trapped was raised.
They do look go tho. And I think for the amount of spannering I'll be doing it won't be too much of an issue, but was just curious.

Dynotile certainly are interlocked well and fluid spills easy to deal withThey do look go tho. And I think for the amount of spannering I'll be doing it won't be too much of an issue, but was just curious.
I have still not gotten round to doing my floor.
It's been painted, but being a single skin double garage, the floor condensates and the paint lifts when you park hot tyres on it. I had tried sealing the floor with PVA mix, but it's still not great.
I recently bought two sections of rubber matting in 1.5m width and 5m length to park the car on. It looks like the pattern of the tiles above and has worked well and I will probably get the same to cover the whole floor and the brick wall to the damp course like a boot liner.
If it works, I'll put up pics.
If it doesn't, we shall never mention it again.

This was a concern of mine too. They do look go tho. And I think for the amount of spannering I'll be doing it won't be too much of an issue, but was just curious.
The ecotile tiles lock tightly together too, although they advise a 5mm expansion gap where the tiles meet the walls so that is a point of ingress should you spill something.
If you spill fluid over a joint, i think you’ll be ok if you clean it up immediately.
Failing that, it’s possible to fish out a tile or two in the middle and clean below if need be.

Yours looks identical to mine. I used the Coba flooring from Screwfix. I cut mine with a Stanley knife though. Only drawback with the New Age kit from Costco is that I had to order a set, and such one unit was always surplus to requirements. Hopefully I can shift on eBay!

Looks good.
It is still listed on Screwfix, but not actually available to buy.
Yes I think they run out of it quite quick. The price they do it for is very reasonable. It is still listed on Screwfix, but not actually available to buy.
I tried getting a deal on it through Cromwell Tools through work but they couldn't get anywhere near the same price.
I finally got round to ordering the Duramat tiles, they should be getting delivered next week, so the job for this week whilst my car is away for a service for a few days. So the job this week is to clear as much out the garage as possible, or at least make it as easy to move as possible.
Does anyone have any tips for fitting this sort of tile?

Anyone with Duramat tiles care to share long term views or pics? Close to ordering some for my 5m x 2.3m integral garage. Can't decide between black and grey after some earlier comments in this thread suggesting that black shows up the dust more.Does anyone have any tips for fitting this sort of tile?
I would definitely go all dark grey maybe with some other colour in there versus black. Im forever sweeping up, my black floor always looks dusty after a few days. Of course if you never open the door its better, but I like working with the door open and the odd bit of wind blows in all sorts of airborne crap.

Your garage is same size as mine. I went 10mm hardened dotti ceramic tile. Didn't cost that much at all.https://www.directtilewarehouse.com/dotti-anti-sli...
For your floor size your looking at about £220 delivered.

The key thing is that since fitting it there is a lot less dust than before with bare concrete!

Do you have any pics? I'm sure they are not but ceramic just sounds brittle and I will parking a motorbike on its side stand on them frequently. https://www.directtilewarehouse.com/dotti-anti-sli...
