Would be interested to find out how close to the asking it got.
TBH I am an interested party as we live in a extended, nice, village based (3miles from this) Semi so it is only good for our value.

This came up during our searches and I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. I know Tring is reasonably expensive but, frankly, this house is hideous and just looks all kinds of wrong. I certainly would not be able to live with the looks from from the front every time I pulled up outside.
Turns out (if anyone is interested) it sold for £450,000 in the end - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/HP23/Chris... Madness.

Actually quite like this (plot and location).

Although I think I'd rather it was demolished and 2 new detached houses/a terrace of 4 was built in its place
Really makes you wonder though. Assuming 5x mortgage you'd need a salary of over £130 to buy it and why would anyone on that level of salary want not just that house but to live in Bromley?http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Sorry, correction. It's a house. Apparently.

Pray do tell, what kind of architecturally stunning house do YOU live in? Sorry, correction. It's a house. Apparently.
P.S. We live in a very similar house. Built by a properly trained architect - I get sunlight all year round, I get to enjoy vistas, I know where my water, electricity, heating, Cat 6 etc run. I don't need boilers straight off The Titanic to keep warm in the Winter either. The list goes on and on...

Nothing really fundamentally wrong with that, needs a refurbish to get the outside back up to scratch, move the antennas somewhere like up on the roof and to tidy up the inside but not too bad at all.
Might need a lot of blinds if it's overlooked, and I'd hope that roof is thick enough to stop it making a racket in the rain. (Just corrugated metal, or is there concrete on top of it?)
At least it has some proper design to it and it isn't a pastiche.

Speaking as someone who hates flat roofs, I like that as well. Jones makes a good summary. Roof construction looks suspect but a new roof (flat) to modern standards wouldn't be a significant problem considering the price.
