Per month? - wow, thats horrendous - do you live in a ten bedroom mansion with no insulation?
5,000sqft open plan barn with galleried living room/dining room - so when the other half is cold and has both boilers at full chat we’re getting through serious amounts of oil. Thankfully it’s getting warmer out!Untitled by Alex L, on Flickr

Surely there must be a far cheaper and efficient way of heating that vast space. Surely a heat pump and cylinder setup would be a lot cheaper.
That's the plan. From my limited research ground source heat pumps work well with wet underfloor heating, which we don't have. Need to spend a bit more time looking at alternatives as in the long term oil is only going to get more expensive.Edited by EarlofDrift on Wednesday 8th April 02:53

Just paid 19p inc VAT. That’s as cheap as it was back in 2000.
Mods.Please change the thread title
I ordered a week ago at 29p which is nearly the cheapest I'd paid (27p)
It's now 19p from the same supplier (The is East Anglia and OilNRG)
Crazy!

There must come a point when it’s not worth them supplying it - what with overheads and costs etc?
the bigger picture is even more WTAF...https://gcaptain.com/the-most-profitable-trade-oil...

When I ordered my oil last month just as the talk off lockdown was being put around, my supplier said they were having issues getting stock as it was all being held offshore.

North Yorkshire and also OilNRG, I wonder why there is a regional difference in the price.
