There's not normally much around my local area that's worthy of inclusion on this thread, but I would love to buy this and renovate it into a family home...

Originally the site was military (I remember delivering papers there as a young teenager) but I don't know how long the actual house has been unused.

Does that mean the main house comes with a load of bunkers?

The sister in law is an estate agent, she had a house on her books a few years ago that had a full on nuclear bunker in the garden, she struggled to shift it as no one could get a mortgage on it due to the bunker, needed to be a cash buyer.

No question at all, once you start spending I doubt you'd ever stop but it could be just lovely.

Each to their own. I would hate to live in something like that.

Had a tour of this place at the weekend http://www.netherbyhall.co.uk/ The owner is a car guy who has used PH, although I'm not sure he actively uses the forums. He's looking to organise some motoring events there for 2017 and I'm helping out with that.

As you'll see from the website they are undertaking a full restoration of the house, outbuildings and gardens. I wouldn't like to guess at the amount being spent but I love the fact that they are doing it. From my brief time there it feels like you really need lots of people around for it to feel like a home. They had guests staying and it did bring a nice atmosphere to the place.
Local to me, or where I was born, anyway. Think i've been there at some point for something or other so wonder if he's done car stuff before.
There's plenty of car clubs within the area, so it'd be worth contacting them to see if they'd like to organise a show there.
That's what we've done and there's a few things planned for 2017. Great location for events although I've not tried out the local roads yet.

I know the chairman of the Solway Jaguar Club (area JEC club) so that'd be a start. Albeit not the biggest club. But plenty of local knowledge.

Church conversions always turn out ghastly in my opinion. This one is no exception overall but is one of the better ones I have seen.

They are just not the buildings to try and make into living spaces I don't think.

And SIX MILLION QUID?!?!?!?
