I know that it’s nothing compared to many of the houses on here, but for £450,000 I can’t imagine that you could find more for your money and still commute to London daily (I do this commute)

All the pictures look stretched/out of proportion, or is it just me?

They do...especially the pitch of the roof in the last few photos. The joys of using wide angle lenses...they also make ceiling heights look even worse.

Pro photographers have access to lenses called tilt shift lenses which are hideously expensive for dealing with that. Here's a 5 min vid which shows how they work which you might find interesting....or might not!

The house is pretty much a blank canvass and nothing special but the location is a stunning and very quiet part of the world, if you like to keep yourself to yourself you couldn't many more places in England like this.

Its special enough for me, I like the layout, and the barn could be fun. Its very North though.
It's a genuinely very beautiful and quiet area, they say the Trough of Bowland was where Tolkien took his inspiration for middle earth from.

You'll need a Land Rover for the winter but. Beggers my belief why anyone retired or not tied to a job would want to live anywhere else (assuming they had the money).
It is stunning but for that money you can get a stunning house in say Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or North Essex (the nice bit of Essex ) away from the property hot spots where the weather is just much, much better.

This place is the same price

http://www.primelocation.com/for-sale/details/1727...

And it has 60% of the rainfall according to the Met Office. Sure you don't have The Lake District, Moors etc on your doorstep but if you're retired and want to go to the Theatre in London it's an hour away or you can jump in your car and be on a ferry to Europe in 45 mins...or your half an hour from Stanstead airport etc.
I well like I said, if you like to keep yourself to yourself... I don't consider theater trips and bobbing to the continent via stanstead either of those, but you may be surprised to note we have theaters and the big metal birds up north as well. With the exception of maybe Northumberland and the Brecons, Bowland is proper sparse country, it's not big but even in August you could walk for a day and see very few people, if any. That's got to be worth £1million of anyone's money.

I do a weekly Rightmove area search from the M6 east to Yorkshire, from the A59 to the A65. Very little every comes up in my poverty ridden price range. I love the area.

Far from local to me, but this looks to be placed in some breath-taking scenery - Not sure on the yellow but lovely house and grounds too imo:

Oh yes.

I've stayed quite a bit near there in a few villages. I could sit and look at scenery like that all day.

Ooh this house I have always liked. Just down the road from me. Only problem is it's on a busy road.

It's called number 1 Yorkshire . Apparently that's something special according to my mrs

Could imagine.

Used to frequently go abroad with my old man when he worked as a continental coach driver for Wally Arnold - Pretty much went everywhere around Europe but only ever managed to see as far as the bordor of Austria.

I'm considering next year that I may book atleast a weeks holiday there - Would love to see Salzburg and some of the surrounding areas yes.

All the villages along the Tyrol are fabulous. I stayed in kramsack and Swartz [spelling]

Austria, Switzerland and Northern Spain are my favourite places.

Why is the oven (and a sink) in the dining room?

And realistically the garage is only a single but could be a decent tandem if you removed a couple of walls.

Ok, so it's a doer-up. But it is situated right at the northern end of the Buttertubs Pass...

Hmmm. No shots of the interior, wonder how bad it is?

It would make a fantastic bolt-hole. Right next to the farm though, so probably some early starts.

Not keen on the bar, but otherwise this would suit me perfectly.
